Phestus Mokae – Contact Centre Adviser

“In my role I get to have a lot of contact with people. 90% of my time is spent taking calls and I’m the first point of contact for everyone – from members of the public who want to start a charity and trustees who are already involved, to people who want reassurance about where their money is going. It’s a very satisfying job because I know that I’m helping charities (most of which are run by volunteers) and making a difference.

Every day I’m humbled by the generosity of the British public in giving their time and money to charities. As I see it, myself and my colleagues at the Commission are here to make it easier for those who devote their time and energy to running charities and to help them concentrate on where their input really matters.”
